U17 Aon National Championships Re-Cap

A massive shout out to all our U17 ABSL teams who competed at the U17 Aon National Championships during the first week of the school holidays. A great effort from all teams as they all represented their associations with pride against some tough teams from all over New Zealand.

A huge congratulations to the WWABi U17 Premier Boys on winning the boys championship over a very strong Waitaha Canterbury team who were coached by former Tall Black, Ed Book. The WWABi U17 Premier Boys were led by Lucas Payne (26 points), Ethan Skelton (13 points/7assists) and tournament MVP Dontae Russo-Nance who finished with 17 points and 7 assists.

Well done to the BA Premier Boys (6th place), BA Reserve Boys (8th place), CMBB Premier Boys (14th place), WWABi Girls (7th place), BA Girls (8th place) and CMBB Girls (11th place) for competing hard every game and leaving everything on the floor.

Great play during the competition by Sataan Tawera (BA Premier Boys), Tautoko Wynyard (WWABi Premier Boys), Ethan Skelton (WWABi Premier Boys), Dontae Russo-Nance (WWABi Premier Boys), Odessa Lawson (WWABi Premier Girls) and Savannah Cook (BA Premier Girls) led to their well-deserved Tournament Team's selections.

Congratulations to these six athletes as they showed that they are some of the best athletes in their age group.

A huge thank you to the coaches, managers and supporters who made everything possible for our athletes, we appreciate you! 💯🏀
