Term 3 ’Inaugural Nation Wide Run and Gun Club Challenge’ Registrations


WHAT
The ABSL Run & Gun Club Challenge is a tournament held at the end of each school term. This year we are inviting ALL Basketball Clubs (Affiliated and Non affiliated) across Auckland to enter teams in the U9, U11, U13 & U15 age groups to compete for the title of Run & Gun Club Champions! The games are quickfire, held in 20 minute time slots in a round robin competition.
We want to grow and strengthen club basketball, so this year we will also be running Club Development Workshops throughout the day for all Club parents, volunteers, managers etc.
Age Grades per BBNZ Rules:
E.g. an U13 player must be aged 11/12 on the 31st December, not 13 on the day of competition.
Teams must have a minimum of 8 players and a maximum of 10
Clubs from all over New Zealand are now welcomed to compete!
COSTS & PAYMENTS
$10 per player
Coach/manager will collect and pay team fees in one go.
Due to the demand of Run and Gun, spots will be based on a first in, first serve basis where you will need to complete the registration form and $80 deposit.

Cash Payments and Roster Forms filled out on the day of competition are NO LONGER AVAILABLE due to teams pulling out last minute. Roster Forms attached in email needs to be sent back to Joel two weeks before the competition - Sunday 16 September

Saturday 29 September - U9, U11, U13, U15 Competitions
COMPETITION TIMES
U9 Competition will start and finish in the morning - 8:00am-10:30am U11, U13, U15 competitions will start at 11:00am until late afternoon (dependent on draw) - 2 courts/pools per age group
VENUE
NOW @ Bruce Pulman Arena, Takanini
COMPETITION FORMAT
20 minute slots - 9 minute running clock halves, No Half Time (Change ends straight away) 2 minute changeover to next game Each team has to supply a referee to cut down costs of court hire. One parent/volunteer on score bench for each game. All players must NOW wear mouth guards to align with BBNZ competition rules. Rules will be sent to Club's 'Main' Contact Please bring hard copy of roster form on day of tournament for team check in.
REFEREES
It is compulsory that each team must provide a referee - NO REFEREE, NO GAMES FOR YOUR TEAM
