Identified were some immediate actions that we can take in basketball, and a number of ideas for ourselves and others within basketball in NZ to develop their girls and women basketball.

Some of the major talking points include:

1. Addressing structural barriers to participation, from other sports barriers have included facilities where basketball is played, uniform design etc.

2. Participation barriers, these may include the format of the game, play and training times etc.

3. Identifying motivators for participation and how to enhance these, including social motivators.

A massive thank you to all those spoke and to the audience who came along, this is a crucial time for the development of women's basketball so ngā mihi to you all.

This was the start of a journey to develop participation and our pathways to better support women and girls in participation, coaching, officiating and leading basketball.
