Tena koutou Basketball Community,
The Government confirmed this afternoon that Auckland will remain at Level 3 until 11.59pm Sunday 31 August, then moving to a modified Level 2 from Monday 2 September, if there is no significant change to the cluster growth. The rest of the country remains at Alert Level 2.
The official Covid19 site and update is at this link.
As such, all our community basketball activity will be cancelled until Monday, 1 September. This includes Adult Leagues, Miniball, Club Leagues, Club nights and our activities in schools.
The modification to Level 2 has a significant impact on our ability to deliver basketball activities from Monday, 1 September. At this stage, under the modified Level 2, the following will apply:
- All Adult Leagues, Miniball and Club Leagues will be postponed.
- Club nights may proceed with significant modifications to support modified Level 2 restrictions. We are working with the venues to understand their procedures and will confirm in due course.
- School programme continuation is under review. We will contact the individual schools to
- U11 and U13 rep programme coaches and managers will be contacted to discuss options.
Super City as an event cannot proceed under Level 2 restrictions.
In the case of cancellations, credits on paid fees may apply and we will confirm the specific details for each programme’s activities.
We will send emails and post updates on our social media channels as further details are confirmed.
The most important thing right now is to keep yourselves and your whānau safe and well, and remember to follow the Government’s recommendations on wearing face coverings when out and about.
