The U13 Northern Regional Championships are underway at the ASB Arena in Tauranga. It is the second week of the school holidays and twelve of our U13 ABSL teams have travelled down safely to compete against other associations in the Northern Region area. Teams from Harbour, Hibiscus Coast, Waikato, Waikato Country, Te Tai Tokerau, Rotorua, Thames Valley and Tauranga will give our team’s good challenges over the four day tournament.
Four boy’s teams and two girl’s teams are competing in the ‘B’ grade competition. These teams include (Counties Manukau B, Waitakere West B, Auckland B, Franklin B) and (Waitakere West and Auckland) respectively.
In the girl’s ‘A’ grade competition, teams from Franklin and Counties Manukau will be playing for spots in the quarterfinals/semifinals and finals. The ‘A’ grade boy’s competition features Auckland, Franklin, Waitakere West and Counties Manukau teams. All teams will have a tough road to the finals and all their hard work in training and preparation leading up to this competition will be showcased throughout each game.
Thanks to all the parents, supporters, managers and coaches who have travelled down to watch our rising stars compete. This tournament is a great experience for all athletes involved as it will give them time to bond as a team and create life-long relationships!
Good luck to all teams!!
